This is by far the most emotional session I will ever attend. Not only was it a homebirth, which by nature is going to be intense, but it was also one of my best friends who I have known since we were babies. It was so hard to watch her in pain (although, obviously not as hard as it was for her:) ) but she did an amazing job. I was thinking in the first hour I was there that it was a good thing I was witnessing what I will be going through soon, because it SURE made me feel like I could be patient for eight more weeks But then when Olive came, and she held her and felt so much joy and relief, oh boy. It was all over for me. I am ready!

B & L- thank you SO much for letting me be there to witness Sweet Olive’s birth. I will never forget it.

If you have the option to have a photographer at your birth- whether it’s at the hospital, birthing center, or your home, I highly recommend it… The pictures tell the story that you will likely not have the clarity to remember, and oh these are some precious memories!

This is, without a doubt, my all-time favorite session (yes, I’m allowed to have favorites). I love these people, and yes that has something to do with it, but it has SO much more to do with what this session means. I know that this session will be cherished by Kristin more than any other client, because I know Kristin has faced more loss and therefore knows the magnitude of these moments more than any other client I have. This session was absolutely full of love, a lot of chasing a giggly little toddler who was busy dancing and running and snacking, and LOTS of snuggling.

Mommas, hold your babies tight, and for the love, get in the photos!

This little girl and her family are SUCH a pleasure to work with! They are easy-going, beautiful, and I am so thankful I have gotten to photograph Maddie as she grows.

And OH THE SHAME….if this doesn’t prove I’m terrible at blogging, I don’t know what will: I wanted to link to her newborn session: never blogged it. I wanted to link to her family session last fall: never blogged it. SORRY guys!!! Here’s one of her newborn pics, just to give you a glimpse…

Back to this session: anyone who knows mom and dad- can you just hear them cringing every time sweet M would dive into her cake?! It was HILARIOUS…I’ve never had to reassure the parents that their child is suppose to get messy during a cake smash! Ha!!

Oh goodness, I cannot say enough about this little guy! For all the work we had to do to get him to cooperate at his newborn session, he made up for in spades at this session! Mom wanted his photos to be outdoors to make his baby blue eyes pop, and OH MY! How is she EVER going to say to “no” to this face??

I am loving watching this sweet boy grow and be a part of my First Year Plan…. can’t wait to see him for his One Year session!

This session went so smoothly…it was a GORGEOUS day, so we went outside where the lighting was delicious and set up camp out there! Oddly enough, the neighbors mowing and weed eating their yard only lulled this little guy a little more to sleep! “R” Family- thank you so much for choosing me to take your maternity and newborn photos! This session was so much fun. I think I held it together pretty well all things considered. But people- we were in a gorgeous field of gorgeous flowers with an AIRPLANE as a prop. (!!!!) It was super fun. FUN senior who said he wasn’t all that excited about this session and then rocked it. Fun parents who were willing to do the HAMMER dance to get him to smile. It was just fun!! Thank you, Scotts, for choosing me- and Michael, thank you for being awesome and making my job easy!

We are really, really enjoying this Spring weather (minus the rain) and taking advantage of weeding our garden in temperatures under 102! Lorelai does not enjoy sitting still much for pictures these days, but I managed to get her to hold still in the interest of photographing her little froggy friend.

Birdie requires some containment right now since we have a small pond in our backyard, but she didn’t mind playing in our vintage crib I keep around for baby/toddler sessions. Such sweet girls. My heart is full!

I never want to forget these baby curls…
