This is by far the most emotional session I will ever attend. Not only was it a homebirth, which by nature is going to be intense, but it was also one of my best friends who I have known since we were babies. It was so hard to watch her in pain (although, obviously not as hard as it was for her:) ) but she did an amazing job. I was thinking in the first hour I was there that it was a good thing I was witnessing what I will be going through soon, because it SURE made me feel like I could be patient for eight more weeks 
But then when Olive came, and she held her and felt so much joy and relief, oh boy. It was all over for me. I am ready!
B & L- thank you SO much for letting me be there to witness Sweet Olive’s birth. I will never forget it.
If you have the option to have a photographer at your birth- whether it’s at the hospital, birthing center, or your home, I highly recommend it… The pictures tell the story that you will likely not have the clarity to remember, and oh these are some precious memories!

This is, without a doubt, my all-time favorite session (yes, I’m allowed to have favorites). I love these people, and yes that has something to do with it, but it has SO much more to do with what this session means. I know that this session will be cherished by Kristin more than any other client, because I know Kristin has faced more loss and therefore knows the magnitude of these moments more than any other client I have. This session was absolutely full of love, a lot of chasing a giggly little toddler who was busy dancing and running and snacking, and LOTS of snuggling.
Mommas, hold your babies tight, and for the love, get in the photos!

This little girl and her family are SUCH a pleasure to work with! They are easy-going, beautiful, and I am so thankful I have gotten to photograph Maddie as she grows.

Back to this session: anyone who knows mom and dad- can you just hear them cringing every time sweet M would dive into her cake?! It was HILARIOUS…I’ve never had to reassure the parents that their child is suppose to get messy during a cake smash! Ha!!

We are really, really enjoying this Spring weather (minus the rain) and taking advantage of weeding our garden in temperatures under 102! Lorelai does not enjoy sitting still much for pictures these days, but I managed to get her to hold still in the interest of photographing her little froggy friend.
Birdie requires some containment right now since we have a small pond in our backyard, but she didn’t mind playing in our vintage crib I keep around for baby/toddler sessions. Such sweet girls. My heart is full!

Well folks, I did it! I put Charlotte in her high chair, poured an obscene amount of honey nut cheerios in front of her, and rolled her right in front of our kitchen window, hoping she would be still enough to get an eye photo of her, too. I love this girl’s eyes…I realize that her eyes aren’t bright blue (and they would probably more likely qualify as gray…) but I never thought I’d have anything other than brown eyed children (which, I don’t mind…Lorelai has GORGEOUS eyes!). It’s just fun to have something different, too. (also, I’m pretty sure I see some brown creeping into the gray, am I right?)
Poor little Birdie hasn’t felt well this week. She’s been running a temp around 103-104 this whole week, and I think that may be why she sat so still for these pictures. Hopefully now that Spring is upon us, there will be less cold viruses going around!

My oh-so-lovely new business cards came in the mail the other day. Opening them up was probably a little too exciting for me…think *Christmas morning* exciting. Yep. Too exciting.
But with a baby as ADORABLE as this representing my business, how could I not be? (Yes, D’Andra, I realize I need to blog his session!)
My business cards are printed on “pearl paper” to make them glisten just the tiniest bit (it appears a little grainy in the photo. I like it.).
If you think you might want to pass some on to your friends and family, I would encourage you to do so! I can even deliver them to you.
My new referral policy* is the following: for every 2 people you refer, you get a FREE session!
(the referred friends must make sure they tell me that you referred them, and actually book and complete a session before your free session is valid.)
This shouldn’t be too hard to do…I am not a salesperson, but if I find something I LOVE or believe in, I most likely will not shut up about it!

(I just want to take a quick second to note- Momma’s of boys, there will be options for your little mister! This is not just for little girls!)
This idea came to me JUST this week, and I am deciding to run with it! I debated on how to price these sessions, because while I want them to be a GREAT deal, I also don’t want to de-value the work and talent that is going into planning these mini-sessions…but… great deal, it is! These sessions are great for your baby that can push up or sit up, your only child, or all of your kids! The studio is not set up for adults or large families, so message me if you have a large family (4+ kiddos) and we’ll see what we can do!
I am going to have a special set-up for this day complete with TWO new backdrops, and some accessories to make each session different from the other. Bring your own props, bows, tutus, whatever you want to personalize your time! Thirty minutes will be MORE than enough, and each online gallery will have 10-15 photos to choose from.
This is a little break from what I usually do, so I hope everyone joins me in this! It’s success will determine future mini-session availability!

This was TRULY the most fun I have ever had at a wedding- and please. Can I get an AMEN that some people have a little more than their fair share of the “beautiful, talented” gene?! Stephanie and Samuel (well, maybe a little more Stephanie…) along with some VERY talented friends HANDMADE almost every decoration for the wedding and reception, and it turned out PERFECT. Thanks for letting me document this amazing night!
